Kebbi Govt partners NUJ to showcase Gov Idris’ achievements

Media tour of the state will involve representatives of the state based media organisations, representatives of both print and electronic media organisations with national outlook, online media practitioners and selected social media reporters

The office of the Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to Kebbi State Governor has unfolded a comprehensive media coverage and analysis package for Comrade Governor Nasir Idris’ purposeful leadership to be part of the two years anniversary celebration in May this year.

Although the administration’s moderate achievements in the implementation and execution of its policies and programmes are fairly publicised, the proposed programme will focus on different sectors with comparative analysis of their values to humanity.

The Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to the Governor, Abdullahi Idris, unfolded the comprehensive programme while addressing journalists in the state as the chairman of the Triennial delegate conference of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Kebbi State Chapter.

He disclosed that a media tour of the state will involve representatives of the state based media organisations, representatives of both print and electronic media organisations with national outlook, online media practitioners and selected social media reporters.

He further explained that the tour will capture completed projects, ongoing infrastructural development projects, particularly in agriculture, education, health care delivery, roads spread across the state, and the impact of a number economic empowerment programmes initiated by the government. It would also include interviews with the benefiting communities on the impacts of the projects and programmes on their lives.

Stakeholders from the community, academic institutions, and reputable non-governmental organisations, NGOs will be engaged in radio and television discussions on the administration’s rate of performance within the period under review, achievements, challenges, and the way forward.

He said that the proposed programme would be organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and the leadership of the All Progressive Congress at all levels.

The Triennial delegate conference was attended by the representative of the state governor and commissioner of Information Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed, the zonal vice president and secretary of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Alhaji Tukur Umar Dutsin Mari and Alhaji Abdulrazak Bello Kaura respectively.

At the end of the conference, Alhaji Bello Sarki of Kebbi State Television Service was elected as chairman while Adebayo Ismail of the Daily Trust Newspaper emerged as the Secretary.
