365Daily – Lawyers to Nigerian businessman and socialite, Paschal Chibuike Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, have demanded the immediate withdrawal and public apology over alleged defamatory statements made by Hon. Chinedu Ogah.
In a statement dated September 11, 2026, issued by Ojukwu Chikaosolu SAN & Co., the legal team said its attention was drawn to a press conference by Ogah, who they said spoke in defence of the Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru.
The lawyers alleged that Ogah, during the press conference, described their client as a “money launderer” and accused him of using hoodlums to disrupt or destroy the “City Boy” event in Owerri, Imo State.
They described the allegations as false and defamatory, arguing that they could expose their client to public hatred, ridicule and reputational damage.
The legal team also accused Ogah of repeatedly invoking the name of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in what they described as an inappropriate manner capable of creating a misleading impression of presidential involvement or endorsement.
However, the lawyers said they would not engage in public exchanges over separate reports concerning alleged foreign currency interceptions at Enugu Airport and claims of connections involving individuals or interests in Ebonyi State, stressing that their present demand was limited to the statements allegedly made against Cubana Chief Priest.
According to the lawyers, their client has more than five million followers on Instagram and a wider international digital audience, making any alleged damage to his reputation potentially significant to his commercial and entertainment interests.
They subsequently demanded that Ogah immediately withdraw the alleged defamatory statements, issue an unreserved public apology through the same media and platforms where the allegations were published or circulated, and stop making or republishing further statements they consider false or defamatory about their client.
The lawyers warned that failure to comply with the demands would lead to legal proceedings in Abuja, without further notice.
They said the proposed action would include a claim for ₦N10 billion in damages over the alleged injury to Cubana Chief Priest’s reputation and global brand.
The lawyers also stated that their client reserves all legal rights and remedies.
