365Daily – Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, has bemoaned the flood that ravaged Trademore Estate, located at Lugbe, Abuja, which caused loss of life and destruction of property worth millions of naira.
Abbas, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Musa Kirshi on Saturday, said it was highly regrettable that people going about their normal lives with their families found themselves in such difficult situation.
While recalling that relevant government agencies had alerted the public of likely floods in some parts of the country before the rainy began, he urged them to heed such warnings and avoid flood prone areas.
He also called on concerned authorities to swing into action to avert the reoccurrence of the incident.
