President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has asked Nigerians to vote them out in 2023 if they feel disenchanted over their performance.
The Senate president stated this on Friday while declaring a retreat for top management staff of the National Assembly and National Assembly Service Commission open in Abuja, according to Punch reports.
He also added that the jumbo pay that members of the legislature receive is a mere “one percent” of the annual national budget,
Lawan, however, warned that there could be anarchy if the Senate is scrapped as some Nigerians have been proposing, saying the Red Chamber is a leveler which ensures equal representation unlike its House of Representatives counterpart with uneven number of lawmakers across states because higher populations states produce more number of lawmakers.
