365Daily – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, and his deputy, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, have condemned the recent deadly attacks on several communities in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, which have left many dead and scores injured.

In separate statements issued on Saturday, April 5, 2025, the two principal officers of the National Assembly expressed outrage over the attacks on Ruwi, Manguna, Daffo, Josho, Hurti, and Tadai communities, which reportedly resulted in the loss of many lives, destruction of property, and displacement of families—mostly women and children.

Describing the attacks as “senseless and barbaric,” Speaker Abbas Tajudeen said the killings were “one too many” and a tragic reminder of the country’s ongoing security challenges.

“I strongly condemn these heinous acts. The continued killing of innocent Nigerians is unacceptable. I urge the security agencies to urgently fish out the perpetrators and ensure they face the full wrath of the law. Impunity must not be allowed to fester,” he said.

Speaker Abbas also commiserated with the bereaved families and the Plateau State government, praying for the repose of the souls of the victims and comfort for their loved ones.

In his own reaction, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu said the attacks were a grim violation of human dignity and a blow to national peace and cohesion.

“These wanton killings and bloodletting are not only condemnable but completely unacceptable to every patriotic Nigerian. We must unite as a nation to put an end to this cycle of violence,” he stated.

Kalu expressed solidarity with President Bola Tinubu’s resolve to bring the perpetrators to justice, assuring that the House of Representatives stands firmly behind the President in the quest to restore peace and order.

He also called on the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other relevant government agencies to promptly deliver relief materials to victims and displaced persons.

“My thoughts are with the families of the victims, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and the entire people of Plateau State. Immediate relief and long-term security solutions must be prioritized to restore hope in the affected communities,” the Deputy Speaker added.

The massacre in Bokkos LGA has drawn widespread condemnation from political leaders and citizens, who are demanding urgent security reforms and community reconciliation efforts to end the recurring bloodshed.
