365Daily – The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Thursday evening, led the Holy Communion Service in his church hours after the death of his 42-year-old son, Pastor Dare Adeboye.

The May Edition of the Holy Communion Service, which held on May 6, 2021, was tagged, ‘Overflowing Blessings’.

His sermon was taken from the book of John 6: 5-13, and he dwelled on the importance of the bread and wine of the Holy Communion.

He, however, was not present at the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway church auditorium but ministered from the studio of the church’s television station, DOVE Media. The service was streamed live.

Adeboye, who did not comment on his son’s passing, said in his sermon: “The bread multiplied in the hands of the disciples, as you receive the bread, it will multiply in your hands.”

After the sermon, the officiating minister in the auditorium said, “Tonight, daddy has prayed for us. He has also prayed on all the elements that we are going to use – the bread and the wine. I am here not standing in for him because I am too small to stand in for him; I am only here to deliver the message as a messenger. He could have been here physically as he used to but due to circumstances beyond control, he was not able to be here but to the Glory of God, he has said to us, Jesus is here and he is also there praying for us.”

The news of Dare Adeboye’s death which occurred in his sleep on Wednesday, May 6, 2021, in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, where he was based with his family came as a shock to people across the world.

President Muhammadu Buhari, the leadership of the National Assembly, Governors, members of his congregation and many others have conveyed their condolences to the 79-year-old general overseer and his wife over  his death.
