Zamfara APC mourns Matawalle’s campaign DG

Zamfara chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed shock over the death of Alhaji Jamilu Aliyu, former Director General of Gov. Bello Matawalle campaign organisation.

The party said in a statement issued in Gusau on Saturday by its Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Yusuf Idris, that the state has lost an illustrious son, who was committed to the service of the people.

“No doubt, the late Zannan Gusau was an illustrious son, philanthropist and an astute politician who dedicated his time to justice and service to humanity,” it said.

“The state party Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani on behalf on the entire members of the party in the state extend their condolences to the governor, the deceased’s family and Gusau Emirate Council.

“May Allah reward him with Jannatu Firdausi and give his family members, Zamfara State Government and indeed the Gusau Emirate the fortitude to bear this great loss,” the statement added.

The deceased who held the traditional title of Zannan Gusau, was a former state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress.

He also served as comissioner for youth and social development in the state.

Aliyu died at Federal Medical Centre Gusau on Thursday, following a brief illness. (NAN)
