Chief Clark, a former Federal Commissioner for Information and prominent advocate for the Niger Delta region, died at the age of 97.

365Daily – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has expressed sadness over the passing of Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF).
Chief Clark, a former Federal Commissioner for Information and prominent advocate for the Niger Delta region, died at the age of 97.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Speaker Abbas described the elder statesman as a dedicated public servant who remained committed to the country’s unity and the development of the Niger Delta region.
The Speaker noted that even after his retirement from active public service, Chief Clark continued to promote regional cooperation through PANDEF and built alliances with other socio-political organizations across the country.
Speaker Abbas also observed that Chief Clark’s passing came shortly after the death of another prominent national leader, Afenifere chieftain Chief Ayo Adebanjo.
He extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, the government, and the people of Delta State, as well as the entire Niger Delta region.
The Speaker prayed for the peaceful repose of Chief Clark’s soul and for strength for his family to bear the loss.
