The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, Tersoo Kula, has called on individuals and groups to respect and support the leadership of Governor Hyacinth Alia.
Kula while reacting to a breach of protocol by supporters of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, at the burial of elder-statesman Wantaregh Paul Unongo Saturday, noted that Governor Alia who has taken governance in Benue to the next level, by developing the state’s infrastructure, investing in human resource development, and attending to the security and welfare of the people deserves support of all.
He expressed disappointment that some individuals who should know better are continually seeking to undermine the governor’s authority and the stability of the state’s governance.
Kula emphasized that Governor Alia is a leader of remarkable maturity and grace, who has consistently exemplified what it means to lead with dignity, even in the face of calculated and unprovoked attacks.
He called on the people of Benue to unite and support the governor, rather than encouraging divisiveness and undermining his authority.
Kula noted that the time has come for the people of Benue to rise above primordial acrimony and embrace a spirit of cooperation that benefits all citizens, emphasizing that it is the communal responsibility of the people of Benue to promote an environment of respect and support for those who serve them.
