Residents of parts of Kubwa, Bwari and neighbouring communities are expected to experience a temporary interruption in electricity supply as the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, carries out scheduled maintenance on its transmission facilities.
TCN, in a statement, said the annual preventive maintenance of the Gwarimpa-Kubwa 132/33kV Line One bay switchgear and associated equipment will take place on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
The exercise is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., during which the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, will be unable to take power supply to customers in the affected areas.
According to the transmission company, the maintenance is necessary to ensure the continued reliability and efficiency of the transmission network.
TCN has apologised to electricity consumers in Kubwa, Bwari and adjoining areas for the inconvenience the temporary disruption may cause, urging affected customers to bear with the situation while the exercise is carried out.
