The Kaduna State House of Assembly on Wednesday considered a number of legislative matters, including bills seeking reforms in the health, audit and investment sectors of the state.
The plenary, presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Dahiru Liman, began with the referral of the Bill for a Law to Establish the Kaduna State Private Health Facilities Regulatory Authority, 2026, to the relevant committee for detailed consideration and further legislative input.
The House also gave First Reading to the Bill for a Law to Amend the Kaduna State Audit Law No. 9 of 2021, which seeks to provide for the tenure and removal of the Auditor General of the state and other related matters.
Also receiving First Reading was the Bill for a Law to Repeal the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency Law No. 9 of 2023 and Re-enact the Kaduna Investment and Export Promotion Agency Law, 2026, alongside other matters connected with the proposed legislation.
In another major development, the Assembly screened and confirmed Hon. Ben Kure, Hon. Amina Akilu Dalhat and Hon. Abdullahi Garba Abbas as Commissioners and members of the Kaduna State Executive Council.
The confirmation followed the completion of the required screening exercise by the lawmakers.
At the end of the proceedings, the Assembly adjourned plenary to Tuesday, October 6, 2026.
