Parents should not hold back their children due to fear of attack or abduction as there is watertight security in all schools in Kebbi
In a symbolic celebration marking the international students day, Kebbi state students under the leadership of Comrade Muhammad Muhammad Majo, special adviser to the governor on students matters has declared that tertiary institutions in Kebbi State are well secured.
Speaking to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, on Sunday, he stated that Governor Nasir Idris has made education accessible, qualitative and affordable through the upward review of students scholarship from 50 percent to one hundred percent to boost their morale and encourage many to go to school particularly children of the poor.
Majo added that to curtail incidence of sexual harassment in universities and other tertiary institutions a mobile app would be introduced and made available to students for them to use in reporting cases of sexual harassment and stiffer penalties awaits erring lecturers.
He assured parents that the security of their children from primary schools up to universities is guaranteed.
“Parents should not hold back their children due to fear of attack or abduction as there is watertight security in all schools in Kebbi”, he said.
He explained that to help students to become self-reliant after graduation, entrepreneurial centres has been established across tertiary institutions in the state to mold them to meet the challenges of 21 century.
He thanked Governor Idris for his support to students in Kebbi State.
