The Benue State Football Association,BSFA,has disclosed that it has rescheduled date for the 2024 Governor’s Cup which was slated to hold November 16.
Secretary General, Benue State Football Association, BSFA, Iorngulum Malu, in a statement yesterday in Makurdi, said new date for commencement of the tournament will be November 24.
Malu further explained that the adjustment followed a request from the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria,ALGON,Benue State Chapter, to allow teams additional time to complete their preparations for this significant event.
According to the statement, BSFA Board has approved this brief extension in the spirit of sportsmanship and to guarantee an organized and competitive tournament.
The BSFA secretary general further disclosed that the opening ceremony will be held at JS Tarka Stadium, Gboko, featuring a 3:00 pm kickoff match between Ohimini Local Government Area and Gwer West Local Government Area.
He said BSFA encouraged all participating teams to make effective use of this period to complete their preparations and to fully comply with tournament regulations, pointing out that the revised fixture with updated match dates and times will be communicated shortly.
Malu said BSFA extends its gratitude to the Commissioner for Youths Sports and Creativity and ALGON, Benue State Chapter, and all stakeholders and supporters for their cooperation and enthusiasm as it look forward to an inspiring Governor’s Cup 2024 that will uplift the spirit of football across Benue State.
