365Daily – The Senate has received a list of seven ministerial nominees forwarded by President Muhammadu Buhari for consideration and confirmation as Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
They would be replacing the ministers who resigned to participate in the party primaries, including Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and his Science and Technology counterpart, Ogbonnaya Onu.
President Muhammadu Buhari had said their replacements would be made without delay “so that the business of governance will not suffer”.
Their nomination was contained in a letter addressed to President of Senate, Ahmad Lawan and read at plenary on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.
The ministerial designates are Henry Ikechukwu (Abia), Umana Okon-Umana (Akwa-Ibom), Ekuma Joseph (Ebonyi), Goodluck Obia (Imo), Umar Ibrahim (Kano),
Ademola Adewole (Ondo) and Udum Odi (Rivers).
Buhari urged the Senate to grant the request the “usual expeditious” consideration.
