365Daily – President Muhammadu Buhari has said he has authorised the military and police to be ruthless on bandits terrorising the Northwest and Northcentral zones of the country.

He made the disclosure in an interview on Arise TV on Thursday morning.

The President’s statement was in reaction to rising killings in the Northwest and Northcentral regions which has led to the loss of lives of thousands of persons and kidnapping for ransom in several areas in the affected.

Buhari assured that Nigerians will soon begin to see results from the activities of the security agents and as the country cannot afford another famine which could arise if the activities of the bandits are not checked.

“People of the same culture killing each other, stealing each other’s cattle, as I said, we are going to treat them in a language they understand.

“We are going to give the police and the military power to be ruthless and you watch it, in a few weeks time, they will be different,” Buhari said.
