“Now it occurred that while the people pressed upon Jesus to hear the message of God, He was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret (Sea of Galilee). And He saw two boats drawn up by the lake, but the fishermen had gone down from them and were washing their nets. And getting into one of the boats, [the one] that belonged to Simon (Peter), He requested him to draw away a little from the shore. Then He sat down and continued to teach the crowd [of people] from the boat. When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon (Peter), Put out into the deep [water], and lower your nets for a haul.
And Simon (Peter) answered, Master, we toiled all night [exhaustingly] and caught nothing [in our nets]. But on the ground of Your word, I will lower the nets [again]. And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish; and as their nets were [at the point of] breaking, They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and take hold with them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.”
Luke 5:1-7 The Amplified Bible
Brethren, several times in Peter’s life, Jesus asked him to go the extra mile, to toss his fishing net over the other side of the boat, one more time. These fishing nets were very heavy and were not easy to move from side to side. Peter was reluctant, but he did it anyway because Jesus asked him to, and the resulting catch of fish was amazing.
Beloved, it is easy to get tired and discouraged when you have tried and tried and you are not seeing the results you had hoped for. But when you hear the voice of the Master deep down inside saying, “Try it again,” do not talk yourself out of what God wants to do in your life.
It may not seem logical. All your reasoning may say it will never happen. You may feel you are too old, or you do not have the experience. It may seem that the report is too bad and all the odds are against you.
The truth is that when, you dare to do what the doubt-filled fishermen did and say, “God, this promise You have given me does not make sense. Nevertheless, if You say so, I believe so.” Just like Peter, you will be amazed at what will happen when you follow His commands, just one more time. Shalom.
As you choose to follow the LORD’S commands, even when things seem difficult, I pray that you will receive divine strength that will usher you into dumbfounding breakthrough in Jesus name Amen.
Every yoke, and embargo of impossibilities raised against your destiny, career, marriage, finances and health, I decree let such be destroyed by the consuming fire in Jesus name Amen.
I pray that the Holy Ghost will overshadow you, and the power of the Most High will come upon you for uncommon exploit in Jesus name Amen.
