365Daily – The Member representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Afam Victor Ogene, has congratulated Mrs. Peace Amarachi Ohnuka of Ideke Community Primary School, Odekpe, on her emergence as the National Winner of the 2026 Presidential Best Public Primary School Teacher Award.

Ogene, in a congratulatory message, described Ohnuka’s feat as a source of pride to Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State and Nigeria, saying her recognition reflected the dedication and commitment of teachers in the constituency.

Ohnuka was announced the national winner on October 5, 2026, during activities marking World Teachers’ Day in Abuja.

The lawmaker noted that Ohnuka’s achievement had further placed Ogbaru in the national spotlight, coming two years after another educationist from the constituency, Mr. Joseph A. Nwosu, founder of JoeNewton EduConsult, won the Nigeria Presidential Best Teacher Award in 2024.

He said the back-to-back national recognition of teachers from Ogbaru within three years was a testament to the quality of educators contributing to the development of children in the area.

“Interestingly, in 2024, Mr. Joseph A. Nwosu, Founder of JoeNewton EduConsult, also won the Nigeria Presidential Best Teacher Award. Now, Mrs. Peace Amarachi Ohnuka has won the Presidential Best Public Primary School Teacher Award,” Ogene said.

“Indeed, we have the best, most dedicated, and committed teachers in Ogbaru.”

Ogene also used the occasion to call for greater investment in teachers, particularly in the areas of remuneration, welfare and educational technology.

“To all teachers: Thank you for building the Head, Heart, and Hand of our children. To Government: Let us invest more in teachers, fair pay, welfare, and EduTech. When we invest in teachers, we invest in our future,” he said.

The lawmaker described Ohnuka as a role model whose commitment to pupils and quality education had brought recognition to Ogbaru, urging her to build on the achievement in her career and service to humanity.

“Mrs. Ohnuka, you are a shining pride of Ogbaru and a role model to many. In a generation that is often fickle and full of vanity, you have chosen the noble path of diligence, service, and excellence,” he said.

“Your commitment to our children and your devotion to quality education have placed Ogbaru on the national map for the right reasons.”

Ogene expressed hope that the national award would serve as a springboard to greater achievements in her career and continued service to education.
