365Daily –  A 33-year-old man, Monsuru Musa, was yesterday allegedly caught writing a promotion examination on behalf of his father, Musa Mohammed, an employee of the FCT Fire Service.

The incident occurred on the third day of the promotion examination organised by the FCT Civil Service Commission at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abuja, where security operatives deployed at the instance of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, reportedly intercepted the younger Musa while taking the examination.

According to sources, Monsuru, who was allegedly sitting for the examination in place of his father, told the security operatives that his father was sick but was within the premises of the examination centre.

He reportedly admitted that his father had directed him to sit for the examination on his behalf.

However, during interrogation, inconsistencies emerged over the age of the senior Musa, raising further questions about the circumstances surrounding the examination.

When asked about his father’s age, Monsuru reportedly said he was between 67 and 68 years old. But his father gave a different account, stating that he would turn 60 in February 2027.

Further questioning revealed that Musa Mohammed claimed to have completed his secondary education in 1982 and primary education in 1977.

The development has raised concerns over attempts to compromise the integrity of the promotion exercise, particularly as the FCT Administration has intensified scrutiny of the process.

The father and son were subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation after making statements to operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

The police are expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged impersonation and determine whether further offences were committed in connection with the promotion examination.
