365Daily – Many commuters and other people who had business to conduct at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, were stranded on Thursday as organised labour shut down the place.
The workers were protesting in solidarity against the assault of the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, in Imo State. The union alleged that the Imo governor, Hope Uzodinma, in connivance with the police in the state, assaulted national leaders and members of the union while they assembled to begin a march in protest of poor treatment of Imo workers last week.
Below are pictures from the shutdown.
