365Daily – The trio of All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains, former Governor of Lagos State, Sen. Bola Tinubu, Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi and former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, are set to officially declare their interests in the presidency.
365Daily gathered that the three top politicians are only waiting for the Muslim Ramadan fast to be over before they make their ambitions to fly their party’s flag in the next election public.
Although Sen. Tinubu had earlier disclosed that he had informed President Muhammadu Buhari about his interest in succeeding him in office as president, he is yet to declare publicly.
Also, Fayemi has been criss-crossing the nation delivering lectures on nation building, security and other topical issues, which many believe is a foundation for his rumoured presidential ambition.
365Daily findings indicate that baring any last minute change of plans, he has picked May 4, 2022, to come public about his presidential aspiration.
For the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and former Governor of Akwa Ibom, Akpabio, preparations are currently ongoing for him to also officially join the fray.
In recent weeks, Akpabio has received a number of support groups, who have called on him to join the presidential race and he has promised to make his opinion about their request known at the appropriate time.
But those in the know told 365Daily that the Minister has already made up his mind to seek his party’s nod to be its candidate in the 2023 presidential election.
The coming days promise to be busy as the major political parties have fixed their primary elections for next month.
