365Daily – Nigerian actress and content creator popularly known as Papaya Ex, has hit back at social media users questioning her claim that her manager deleted one of her movies from YouTube.

The controversy began after Papaya Ex reportedly came online distressed over the disappearance of the movie, The Spotlight, which had already garnered millions of views on YouTube.

While some fans sympathised with the actress, others were not convinced by her account of what happened.

One social media user, Roseline Chuku, questioned the story and suggested that the incident surrounding the deleted movie might not be as straightforward as Papaya Ex had presented it.

“There’s actually no difference between her and Ashmusy. To think I was already pitying her,” the user wrote while reacting to the controversy.

Another user offered a different theory, suggesting that Papaya Ex might have already earned from the movie’s previous views and could be planning to upload it again to generate additional revenue.

The reactions did not sit well with Papaya Ex, who responded directly to one of the posts and appeared to take the accusation personally.

Replying to a post accusing her of lying about her manager deleting the movie, Papaya Ex wished the user hardship and said their work would fail if they were deliberately using her situation to gain attention.

“May you be sick forever if you intend to use my matter for clout,” she wrote, before adding that the person’s hard work would only succeed if she was lying.

She also warned the critic to take down the post.

Papaya Ex’s response has added another layer to the controversy, with social media users now debating whether her manager actually deleted the movie, whether the deletion was deliberate, or whether the entire situation has been misunderstood.

Some users have also raised the possibility that the incident could have been planned for publicity, although there is currently no verified evidence that Papaya Ex and her manager staged the situation.

The controversy has therefore left social media divided, with some users standing by Papaya Ex while others continue to question her explanation of how the movie disappeared from her YouTube channel.

For now, Papaya Ex maintains that her account of the incident is genuine, while the online debate over the deleted movie continues.
