UNICEF delegation engages Sokoto Ministry on Education Development

The visit reinforced the ongoing collaboration between UNICEF and the Sokoto State Government in advancing quality education and ensuring better opportunities for children across the state

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Sokoto State, Prof. A. L. Ala, received a delegation from the UNICEF Field Office in his office, weekend. The team was led by Education Specialist Mqaphelisi Sibanda, accompanied by Francis Elisha and Rachel Maduga.

The discussions centered on strengthening education policies and improving learning outcomes in the state. Various challenges and opportunities within the sector were addressed, with UNICEF reaffirming its commitment to supporting the ministry’s initiatives as contained in a statement to our correspondent by the Public Relations Officer, Nura Bello Maikwanci.

Key officials of the Ministry were also present at the meeting, including the Director of Administration, Abubakar Umar Salame; Director of Quality Assurance, Abdulkadir Alkammawa; Director of Basic Education, Abdulrahman Jafar; Director of Examinations, Abubakar Abdullahi; and Director of Private Schools, Amina Danjuma.
