365Daily– A video of Willie Obiano in Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) custody has been trending on social media.
In the short clip, the former Anambra Governor was seen chatting with an unidentified man while drinking from a bottle of water.
Obiano was arrested by the anti-graft agency on the eve of his handover to Prof. Charles Soludo on Thursday, March 17, 2022, in Lagos State, on his way to board a flight to Houston, Texas, USA.
Earlier that day, his wife, Ebere, made headlines after engaging in a physical brawl with the widow of Ikemba Odimegwu Ojukwu, Bianca, at the inauguration ceremony of the new governor.
The EFCC in a statement had said in the aftermath of Obiano’s arrest that he was being interrogated over alleged misappropriation of N37 billion security vote and N5 billion Sure-P funds, totaling N42 billion.
It also alleged that the former governor also used part of the N42 billion to fund political activities in the state.
