Religious leaders to use their influence to promote peace and discourage acts of violence carried out under the guise of religion

365Daily – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged religious leaders to intensify their efforts in speaking out against terrorism, kidnapping and banditry, as well as the misuse of religion to justify violence.
The President made the call in a goodwill message delivered by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, at the Grand Maulud of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Tijani, RTA, in Kano.
Tinubu also called for stronger advocacy for peace education, religious literacy, youth guidance, justice and peaceful coexistence.
The President’s message was delivered to the World Khalifa of the Tijjaniyya Order, scholars, spiritual leaders and adherents from Nigeria and beyond who gathered for the religious event.
