Benue State Deputy Governor, Barrister Sam Ode, has highlighted the state government’s investment in local enterprise, youth employment and infrastructure during the Renewed Hope National Media Tour.
Ode engaged members of the press and the Presidential Media Team during the tour, drawing attention to the activities of the state-owned Food Basket Brewery and its contribution to the local economy.
The brewery sources major raw materials, including millet, guinea corn, malt and maize, from local farmers and producers for the production of ZEVA Premium Beer, ZEVA Malt Drink and soft drinks.
According to the deputy governor, the initiative demonstrates the potential of local investments to generate employment, strengthen economic participation and maximise the value of Benue’s agricultural resources.
Another major focus of the media tour was the inspection of the 1,754-metre Buruku-Logo Bridge, a major infrastructure project spanning the River Benue and linking agrarian communities with neighbouring Taraba State.
When completed, the bridge is expected to improve connectivity between communities, ease the transportation of people and agricultural produce, and stimulate trade and other economic activities along the corridor.
The brewery and bridge projects were among the key highlights of the Renewed Hope National Media Tour in Benue State, showcasing ongoing investments in agriculture, local enterprise and infrastructure across the North-Central region.
The tour provided an opportunity to highlight how such projects are expected to support economic growth, improve livelihoods and strengthen connectivity within the state and beyond.
