Mrs. Oluchi, wife of the abducted journalist working with PUNCH newspaper, at its Abuja office, has recounted how unknown gunmen invaded their house, whisked away her husband and also kidnapped two children from their neighbourhood.
The unfortunate incident was said to have occurred on Wednesday night at their residence located along Arab Road, Kubwa, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
According to her, the assailants scaled their fence and gained access into the compound before they got knowledge of the impending danger.
Narrating to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday, February 4, 2021, she said, “The gunmen fired several shots at the windows and subsequently pulled down the burglary proof after which they forced open the front door.
“My husband asked me to stay with the children in their room. I heard the men asking him to bring out money, but he told them he didn’t have money in the house.
“They took our phones and marched him out of the house. They went to our neighbour’s house and also abducted her two sons.”

Also speaking, a widow, Mrs Faith Gbeyide whose sons were kidnapped, explained that her son opened the door when the men threatened to kill them, if they refused.
She said they made away with N9,000, which they found inside her house, and went away with her two sons.
