Nigeria and Thailand have moved to deepen their economic and diplomatic relations with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Technical Cooperation.
The agreement provides a framework for enhanced collaboration between the two countries in key areas, including trade, investment and economic development.
The MoU was signed in Abuja on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkeow.
The partnership is expected to strengthen technical cooperation between both countries while opening up new opportunities for expanded trade, investment and commercial partnerships.
The agreement also underscores the commitment of Nigeria and Thailand to broadening bilateral relations and promoting mutually beneficial economic opportunities.
Officials said the framework would facilitate closer engagement between the two countries and support initiatives aimed at advancing shared development objectives.
