OPINION: A heavenly birthday tribute to ny beloved brother, Archbishop Augustine Obiora Akubeze

By Lady Ngozi Okonkwo

Today, the candles would have brightly shone. Seventy years — your journey would have grown. But heaven called you home before this day and left our hearts with words we can not say.

Today, 25th of August, we remember a cherished brother, a life we will always treasure. Though on the 9th of July, the Almighty Father took you from our sight, your memory still shines with enduring light.

You were a brother, a shepherd and a guide, a man of faith with Christ ever by your side. You served your people with a loving heart and gave of yourself, each day, a sacred part.

Your voice may now be silent to our ears, but your wisdom lives on through the passing years. Your footsteps remain upon the paths you trod, and your faithful life still points our hearts to God.

Seventy years, we would have celebrated today, with songs and prayers and joy along the way. Instead, we lift our hearts and tears above, thanking God for your life, your service, and your love.

Dearest brother, though we can not see your face, we trust that you now rest in God’s embrace. No distance, no grave, no passing of time, can erase the bond that makes your memory shine.

So Happy 70th Birthday, dear brother of mine, in heaven’s glorious presence, where eternal blessings shine. Sleep peacefully, until that blessed day, when we shall meet again, never to part away.

Your life was a gift, your memory a treasure,
your departure a sorrow, but your legacy endures forever.

Rest in perfect peace, great son of Ogbaru and humanity. You are deeply loved, greatly missed, and forever remembered in our hearts.

Your memories live on…long after your candle burnt out!

Spread the love
