365Daily – The senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, has welcomed the rescue of the students and pupils who were abducted in Orire community, Oyo State, describing their safe return as a source of relief and hope for their families and the nation.
Speaking during plenary on Tuesday, the senator also expressed profound sympathy to the family of the individual who lost his life during the unfortunate incident, praying for the peaceful repose of his soul and for God to grant the bereaved family the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
While expressing gratitude for the successful rescue of the kidnapped students and pupils, Umeh stressed that such incidents should not become a recurring reality in the country.
He called for renewed commitment by the relevant authorities to strengthen security across Nigeria and ensure the protection of lives and property.
The lawmaker urged security agencies and the government to intensify efforts toward improving the nation’s security architecture to prevent similar incidents and guarantee the safety of Nigerians, particularly schoolchildren.
Senator Umeh reaffirmed the need for sustained measures to address the country’s security challenges, emphasisng that every Nigerian deserves to live, work and pursue education in a safe and secure environment.
