According to spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command, ASP Blessing Agabe, while speaking with newsmen on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, said the suspect who is about 30 years old, killed Ms Caroline while accusing her of infidelity.

Blessing narrated that the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital on Saturday when the incident happened and she was confirmed dead on arrival, and the suspect was subsequently arrested, and is now in custody.

“The victim sustained multiple injuries that resulted in her death. Preliminary investigations show that the couple has two children together.

“Investigation has commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to ensure justice for the victim,’’ she said.

A source alleged that Emmanuel confronted Sunday over claims that she was involved in a relationship with another man.

According to the eyewitness, the victim denied the allegation, leading to an argument between the couple.

“Neighbours rushed to the house after hearing Caroline’s cries for help.

“On arrival, they found her lying in a pool of blood. Attempts to revive her were unsuccessful,” the source said.
