Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has commended President Bola Tinubu and the nation’s security agencies for the successful rescue of pupils and teachers abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a statement released on Saturday, Kalu described the rescue as a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity and protect vulnerable communities across the country. He said the development reflects the commitment of the Federal Government and the dedication of security personnel working to safeguard lives and restore public confidence.
The Deputy Speaker applauded the coordinated efforts of the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services and other security agencies involved in the operation, noting that their professionalism and resilience were instrumental to the safe return of the victims.
Kalu also acknowledged the collaboration between the Federal Government and the Oyo State Government throughout the rescue process, describing the outcome as an encouraging example of what can be achieved through cooperation among relevant authorities.
While welcoming the successful rescue, the Deputy Speaker expressed sympathy to the family of the teacher who lost his life during the incident and prayed for strength and comfort for those affected by the tragedy.
