The APC and the administration it currently leads should be made aware that impoverished Nigerians are tired of the lies and propaganda of this government

A Labour Party group, Alliance for All Labour Party Professionals and Stakeholders, has berated the spokesperson of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Felix Morka, over his comment on former Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, saying no Nigerian alive today can deny feeling the effect of record-breaking poverty except for those directly working with the administration of President Bola Tinubu or his party.
In a statement signed by Dr. Blessing Elaigwu, Convener of the group on Wednesday in Abuja, they lamented what they called threat by APC spokesperson, saying it’s a rehearsal of plot by the ruling party to intimidate voters in 2027.
According to them, “No Nigerian alive today except, perhaps those in the inner circle of this administration can deny the effect of the record breaking poverty and inequality which has become the signature of this administration’s rule”.
The group said: “We watched with utter disgust the attempt by the spokesperson of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Mr. Felix Morka to dodge responsibility for the undisguised threat he issued against our 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi on national television.
“It is even more disheartening that the APC spokesperson who was given several opportunities by the Arise Television anchors to apologize to Obi and Nigerians for his reckless utterances chose instead to reel out claims of non-existent records of achievements by the President Bola Tinubu-led administration, what a shame.
“We are short for words to describe what Mr. Morka was thinking when he again issued a fresh threat to forward a list of 400 Nigerians to security agencies in a brazen attempt to scare citizens into silence.
“He and his ruling party – The APC are only exhibiting signs of what we already know – they are scared stiff of what fate await them at the ballot box in 2027.”
The Labour Party group said Nigerians most of who have become victims of APC’s policy of institutionalized impoverishment of the populace are warming up for the opportunity to vote the party and all it represents.
“The APC and the administration it currently leads should be made aware that impoverished Nigerians are tired of the lies and propaganda of this government and are prepared to borrow a leaf from their Ghanaian cousins to liberate our country and our economy from its current decadent state.
“Morka and those in the ruling party who share his belief in building an authoritarian empire where citizens’ right to free expression is considered a threat to the state should be prepared to expand our prisons and recruit more wardens because Nigerians will continue to speak out against bad governance”, the group frowned.
