365Daily – Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, has described the 2027 general election as a “referendum on performance,” urging Nigerians to assess the achievements of the President Bola Tinubu administration based on facts and figures.
Abbas stated this when he received the leadership of the PBAT Door to Door Movement, led by its National Coordinator, Comrade Sunday Adekanbi Asuku, during a courtesy visit.
The Speaker urged the movement to take the campaign for President Tinubu’s re election directly to Nigerians through a door to door approach across states and communities, using facts, figures and issue based engagement.
He said the achievements of the Renewed Hope Administration should not merely be announced but explained to Nigerians in terms of how government policies and reforms are translating into progress across the 36 states.
Abbas said the House of Representatives would continue to perform its constitutional role as a bridge between government and the grassroots while enlightening Nigerians on the case for continuity.
He argued that decades of accumulated challenges could not be reversed within four years, noting that Nigerians had made sacrifices for the reforms introduced since 2023.
According to him, abandoning the reform process before it has had sufficient time to deliver its full impact would undermine the sacrifices already made and the gains recorded so far.
The Speaker maintained that the 2027 election should not be dominated by noise, propaganda or empty promises, but should instead allow Nigerians to evaluate the administration based on measurable performance, facts and figures.
