365Daily – As earlier reported by 365Daily, the duo of Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State and former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio, will on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, declare their respective interests in the 2023 presidency.
365Daily had reported that both politicians would officially declare for 2023 presidency after Sallah.
Both chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would be joining the likes of former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, former Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Tinubu, Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, among others, in the race to represent APC in the presidential election next year.
According to information from the camp of Governor Fayemi, his declaration would be an indoor affair, as he has chosen the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, for the event.
The event is tagged ‘Unfolding The Agenda’.
In a sharp contrast to Fayemi’s planned Abuja indoor event, Senator Akpabio favours a massive rally in his home state, Akwa Ibom.
The political rally tagged ‘Uncommon Declaration’ by his supporters would be hosted at the Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium, and would have in attendance big names in the entertainment industry, such as music star, Davido, to add colour and vibe to the rally.
One of the flyers posted by his aides and supporters reads, “Nigeria 2023 For Godswill”.
It adds: “The movement begins from Ikot Ekpene.”
Akpabio is from Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Akpabio is the current Minister for Niger Delta Affairs.
