Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has dedicated his re-election victory to God and the people of the state, thanking residents for entrusting him with another four-year mandate.
In a statement following his victory, Adeleke described the outcome as a triumph for the people, praising voters for their resilience, courage and commitment to democracy.
“This victory is for God and the people. I will not disappoint you,” the governor said.
Adeleke urged residents to put the election behind them and focus on peace, forgiveness and unity. He also extended an olive branch to other contestants, assuring them that his administration would govern the state without discrimination.
“There is no victor, no vanquished. I am the Governor of all,” he said.
The governor paid tribute to those who lost their lives in pre-election violence, observing a minute of silence in their honour. He called on traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders to support efforts aimed at reconciliation and healing across the state.
He pledged to use his renewed mandate to consolidate the achievements of his administration, address identified shortcomings and accelerate development across Osun.
According to Adeleke, his administration would sustain its efforts to transform Osun from a civil-service-dependent economy into an industrial hub and a preferred destination for investors.
The governor also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support for a free and fair electoral process. He further commended democracy advocates in Nigeria and abroad, particularly members of the media, for their contributions to strengthening democratic values in the country.
