365Daily – President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mrs Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, following the resignation of Yusuf Tuggar, who stepped down to pursue political ambitions ahead of the 2027 elections.
Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who previously served as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, now takes over the leadership of the ministry at a time the administration is seeking to recalibrate Nigeria’s global engagement.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed that Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye has been nominated as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, subject to confirmation by the Senate.
Enikanolaiye, an indigene of Kogi State, is a career diplomat with over three decades of service in Nigeria’s foreign service. He previously served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.
Over the course of his career, he has held several strategic positions, including Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and postings in key diplomatic missions in Addis Ababa, Belgrade, Ottawa, London, and New Delhi.

Tinubu congratulated both appointees and charged them to advance Nigeria’s national interest, drive economic diplomacy, promote regional stability, and ensure the protection of Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.
