365Daily  – The Federal High Court in Abuja has nullified the processes that led to the emergence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 general elections.

It also nullified the emergence of former Senate President, David Mark, and former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, as National Chairman and National Secretary of the party, respectively.

In a judgment delivered on Thursday, the court further invalidated the emergence of all other candidates nominated by the ADC for the 2027 general elections at all levels.

The court held that the candidates’ nominations were invalid, having emerged through processes conducted under an unlawful party leadership.

It effectively nullifies the ADC’s leadership structure under which Atiku emerged as its presidential candidate, as well as the nominations of all other candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The ruling comes amid political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections, with the ADC emerging as a platform for opposition figures seeking to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
