Sokoto Health ministry collaborates with UDUTH for improved service delivery

The Sokoto State Ministry of Health said it has collaborated with Usman Danfodio University Teaching Hospital, UDUTH, in order to improve healthcare delivery in the state.

Commissioner of the Ministry Dr. Faruk Umar Abubakar Wurno stated this when he paid a courtesy visit on the hospital’s management.

He approved the setting up of a 5-member technical committee which will comprise three directors from the ministry and two officials of UDUTH to revive the memorandum of understanding (MOU) which has been dormant for quite sometimes.

He said the importance of the MOU cannot be overemphasise towards improving health care services in the state.

In his response, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Anas Ahmad Sabir, pledged to continue to render all the necessary support to the ministry to achieve the desired goal.

He said the hospital welcomes any programme aimed at improving healthcare system in the state.

Professor Sabir expressed optimism on the commissioner’s capability to take the ministry to greater heights considering his achievements when he was the Registrar of Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
