National youth Council of Nigeria NYCN, Kebbi State branch, has called on Kebbi state government to add to the number of existing youth representatives in his government.

The state Chairman, Engineer Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, made the statement in Birnin Kebbi, on Saturday during one year anniversary organised by the youth body to celebrate the government and the people of Kebbi state.

According to him, youths are the engine room of every society and government therefore every government must take them seriously in order to curtail the consequences of abandonment.

“Today, we gathered here to celebrate Dr. Nasir Idris for his various assistance to youths in the state particularly for appointing no fewer than one thousand youth in his government to serve at different places to contribute their quota. We commend him for that and the infrastructure he put in place “.

Rufai added that youth inclusion in agriculture largely reduces restiveness and crimes in the state because hundreds of them are in their farms trying to fend for themselves, their families and to create the needed economic value chain for self reliance.

On women liberation from poverty, he commended the two wives of the governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasarajo Idris and Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris for impacting vulnerable women positively in the state.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Youth, Alhaji Muhammed Nura Bala Fingila, in his goodwill message said that no government in Kebbi near history ever appointed the number of youth in his government like Dr. Nasir Idris.
