President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Chairman of Access Holdings Plc and Coronation Group, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede,on his 60th birthday.
In a congratulatory message, Tinubu acknowledged Aig-Imoukhuede’s contributions to Nigeria’s business, financial and public sectors, describing him as one of the Nigerians who have played significant roles in building institutions with global competitiveness.
The President highlighted Aig-Imoukhuede’s tenure at Access Bank, where he became Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in 2002 and led the institution through a period of substantial growth.
He noted that Aig-Imoukhuede currently serves as Chairman of Access Holdings Plc and Coronation Group.
Tinubu also commended his contributions to the development of Nigeria’s financial markets, noting his service as President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and founding Chairman of FMDQ Securities Exchange. He currently serves as Co-Chairman of EnterpriseNGR.
Beyond the private sector, the President recalled Aig-Imoukhuede’s involvement in public service, particularly his appointment in 2012 as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on the Verification and Reconciliation of Fuel Subsidy Payments.
Tinubu also praised the philanthropic work of Aig-Imoukhuede and his wife, Ofovwe, through the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation.
According to the President, the foundation has contributed to strengthening Nigeria’s public service, building the capacity of public servants and supporting improvements in the healthcare sector.
He said Aig-Imoukhuede’s continued commitment to national development after achieving considerable success in the private sector was worthy of recognition.
Tinubu described the 60th birthday as an important milestone for reflection on a career that has contributed to the growth of several institutions and created opportunities for many Nigerians.
The President joined Ofovwe, their children, family members, friends and associates in celebrating the business leader, wishing him good health, happiness and many more years of service to Nigeria and humanity.
“Happy 60th birthday, Aigboje,” Tinubu said.
