The party, in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, on Friday, said it had received reports that some state chairmen were demanding registration fees from support groups.
The NDC said registration of support groups does not attract any fee and that the responsibility for registering such groups rests exclusively with its Directorate of Support Groups at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
It therefore directed all inquiries and registration requests to the directorate, stressing that no state chapter, officer or other party official had been authorised to register support groups or collect money for the process under any guise.
“All State Chapters of the party are hereby directed to be properly guided and to comply strictly with this directive,” the statement said, while warning that any official found violating the directive would face disciplinary action in accordance with the provisions of its constitution.
The NDC also reaffirmed its commitment to working with support groups, including the Obidient and Kwankwasiya movements, saying it valued their support and partnership ahead of the 2027 elections.
