365Daily –  The kidnappers who took away ten persons from Sagwari Layout Estate in Dutse, Abuja, have demanded the sum of N500 million as ransom from one of their victims’ family.

The victims are 2 children and a 23-year old niece of the children’s mother who was on a visit for the Christmas and New Year celebration.

365Daily had reported that the assailants broke into homes in the estate early Sunday night, taking away at least 10 people before making their way up the hill behind the estate.

According to a resident of the estate who managed to escape when they attacked, the children were taken after they opened their house door when they heard a knock, thinking it was their father who had gone out that had returned home.

She added that their mother went into the living room afterwards to find that her children and her niece were gone.

Another mother, according to our source, said her husband and children were similarly taken from their sitting room after he answered a knock on the door. She added that the assailants were armed. Asked how she managed to escape, she said she was upstairs in her house and saw her family rounded up by the criminals.

365Daily gathered that the kidnappers left abruptly after a resident alerted the estate security and raised the alarm of the presence of kidnappers by shouting. However, the attackers left with their victims.
