365Daily– The suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty, Dr. Betta Edu, has arrived at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Headquarters in Abuja.

President Bola Tinubu yesterday suspended her for paying N585 million meant for payment of grants to vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Cross River and Ogun states into a private account.

Edu is the first minister to be suspended from office since members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) were sworn in in August last year.

However, the Minister, who is the immediate past women leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has denied any wrongdoing, saying it is not against public service rules to pay monies meant for projects into the project coordinator’s private account.
