“And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead:” (2 Kings 9: 1)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
When Elisha summoned one of the sons of the prophet, he commanded him to take a box of oil to Ramothgilead for the purpose of anointing Jehu. That son of the prophet was ordinarily not qualified to anoint a new king, but he had the oil for the assignment. He may not have had a voice that should be respected, but he had an oil that caused Jehu and other captains to take orders from him. That trainee prophet was a carrier of oil.
Friend, the oil is a security for your journey. The oil is a guarantee that your assignment will be fulfilled. The oil of God upon your life is a guarantee that even the men that ordinarily would not respond to you will be compelled to respond. The oil of God on your life is a guarantee that what is missing in your life will not stop your progress. The oil of God upon your life is a guarantee that you will not stop on the way.
If the oil of God be upon your life, men may not like you but they will have no option but to open their gates to you. If you become a carrier of the oil of God, doors that do not open to others will open to you, favours that were not shown to others will be extended to you, results that others didn’t have a chance to obtain will come to you with ease, and the captains of this world would be at your beck and call.
Today, I pray for you: may the Lord pour upon you a supernatural oil that makes a difference. May the Lord put the oil of favour upon you; may the Lord cause your life to overflow with the oil of distinction; may the Lord cause you to have the oil of gladness above your contemporaries; may the Lord cause your life to overflow with oil that makes glad when others are in sorrow; may God put on you the oil that exempts a man from evil.
Ask the Lord to baptize you with the oil that makes a process smoother than usual. Ask the Lord to pour a supernatural oil on you.
Hebrews 1: 9 TPT says: “For you have cherished righteousness and detested lawlessness. For this reason, God, your God, has anointed you and poured out the oil of bliss on you more than on any of your friends.””
