Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, has accused the Special Adviser on Political Matters to President Muhammadu Buhari, Babafemi Ojudu, of telling lies against him.
He said this at a briefing of newsmen on Tuesday in his burnt Ibadan residence where he said N50m worth of properties were destroyed.
Adeyemo was reacting to a Monday Facebook post by Ojodu which alleged that opposition politicians had contracted him to disrupt the 2009 Rerun Governorship Election in Ekiti State but halted the deal after his intervention.
He said, “I have been hearing reports about a man called Femi Ojudu. I don’t know this man. He said the late Chief Adedibu contracted me in 2009 and we all know that Adedibu died in 2008. I think the man should be undergo a mental test because the late Chief Adedibu did not train me for any job and I was not close to the late Adedidu.
“I have a relationship with my father, Senator Rasheed Ladoja and I have never betrayed him in the years I was his follower.
“I don’t know Femi Ojudu and I didn’t have any business with him. All what he said are lies.”
The activist said politicians were politicising the crisis to tarnish his image and challenged anyone who had any deal with him to come forward with the claim.
He added that he asked the Fulani herdsmen responsible for kidnappings, killings, rape and destruction of farmlands with their cattle in Igangan, Ibarapa Local Government Area of Oyo State to leave because he was moved by the sufferings of the people of the town.
“Any politician who knows he paid me money to do all that I am doing should come out openly before the whole world. I was not bankrolled by anyone. My priority is for peace to reign in the land of my forefathers,” he charged.
“No politician paid me for all I am doing. The Fulani herdsmen have been killing, kidnapping and raping the people (of Igangan) but no government came to their rescue until my intervention. I owe the people a duty because I hail from the town, I even have the tribal mark of the people,” he added.
