Popular Nollywood actress Oluebube Obio has set social media abuzz after making a surprise appearance at an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign event in Bayelsa State, where she was seen showing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.

The actress’s appearance reportedly caught many of her fans off guard, with videos from the event showing her dressed in a T-shirt and cap bearing the president’s name.

Oluebube was welcomed on stage during the gathering, where she joined other participants in the activities and was also seen presenting awards to some recipients.

Her presence at the political event has since triggered a wave of reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing surprise at seeing the young actress take part in a partisan political gathering ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

While some social media users welcomed her participation as her personal choice, others questioned the decision, particularly against the backdrop of the economic difficulties confronting many Nigerians and growing concerns over the direction of the country.

The actress’s appearance has also reignited the wider debate over the role of entertainers and other public figures in partisan politics, especially when they publicly associate themselves with political candidates or parties.

Although Oluebube’s participation at the event has been widely interpreted as an indication of support for Tinubu’s 2027 ambition, she has yet to make a detailed public statement explaining her political position or the reason for her appearance at the APC gathering.

For now, her surprise appearance in Bayelsa has continued to generate conversation across social media, with fans and political observers debating whether the actress is taking a more active role in Nigerian politics ahead of the 2027 elections.
