The NNPC Foundation Ltd/Gte, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of NNPC Limited, in collaboration with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has continued its nationwide financial literacy programme designed to equip young Nigerians with essential financial management and entrepreneurial skills.

The latest training session was held for Batch B, Stream 2 corps members at the FCT NYSC Orientation Camp in Kubwa, Abuja, over the weekend.

The programme focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of personal finance, encouraging responsible financial decisions and providing practical knowledge to help them establish and sustain viable businesses.

Speaking at the event, Acting Managing Director of the NNPC Foundation, Euginia Dominion, urged the corps members to maximise the opportunity provided by the programme and put the knowledge acquired into practice.

Dominion said the initiative, which began in 2023 with Kudimata Nigeria Limited serving as consultant, had made a significant impact among Nigerian youths.

She disclosed that 531 participants who successfully completed a competitive assessment of their business proposals received business grants and starter packs in May 2025 to support their entrepreneurial ventures.

Also speaking, the FCT NYSC Coordinator, Samson Ateli, commended NNPC Limited for supporting the initiative, noting that the programme had helped reshape the mindset of corps members by promoting financial discipline, self-reliance and entrepreneurship.

According to the Foundation, more than 1.3 million corps members have so far benefited from the financial literacy training nationwide.

The programme is expected to continue contributing to efforts to close the financial knowledge gap among Nigerian youths while creating opportunities for entrepreneurship, job creation and improved economic independence.

The initiative further demonstrates the NNPC Foundation’s commitment to youth empowerment and its broader efforts to support Nigeria’s economic development by equipping young people with the knowledge and skills required to become financially responsible citizens, successful entrepreneurs and potential employers of labour.
