365Daily – A High Court in Anambra State has sentenced popular spiritualist, Onyebuchi Okocha, widely known as Onye Eze Jesus, to six years imprisonment and a N20 million fine for violating provisions of the Anambra Homeland Security Law.
The conviction followed a prosecution by the Anambra State Government as part of its campaign against alleged ritual related activities and other practices considered detrimental to public safety.

Authorities had launched a major security operation in February 2025, leading to the arrest and investigation of several native doctors accused of engaging in activities prohibited under state law.
In its judgment, the court held that individuals who claim the ability to confer wealth through unlawful spiritual means or who produce charms banned by law can be prosecuted and punished under the provisions of the Homeland Security Law.
The ruling is regarded as a significant outcome of the state’s ongoing efforts to tackle activities linked to criminality, including kidnapping and internet fraud.
