365Daily – A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State, Chief Kefas Wungak Ropshik, has outlined plans to confront rising insecurity and unemployment as he intensifies consultations ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Ropshik, a philanthropist and community leader popularly known as Kefiano of Kefiano Autos, disclosed this while addressing supporters in Kanke Local Government Area, where he stopped short of a formal declaration but signalled readiness to join the race.

The aspirant said the challenges of joblessness and insecurity require urgent, people-driven solutions, stressing that his ambition is rooted in the need to reposition the state for inclusive growth and stability.

“I am even surprised at the mammoth turnout, despite the fact that this is not an official declaration yet,” he said. “I am very sure that my people and the good people of Plateau State want me, and I am fully prepared to make them proud.”

He described the large turnout at the meeting as a reflection of growing grassroots acceptance of his potential candidacy, adding that ongoing engagements across communities would shape his next political steps.

Ropshik has earned a reputation for grassroots mobilisation through sustained humanitarian activities, particularly in youth empowerment, educational support, and welfare programmes for widows and other vulnerable groups.

He is also noted for adopting and raising children, providing them with access to education and improved living conditions, a gesture that has reinforced his standing as a compassionate figure within the community.

Supporters at the gathering said his track record distinguishes him as a leader capable of addressing Plateau’s pressing socio-economic and security concerns.

“Plateau needs a leader who understands the pains of the people and is willing to act,” a supporter said. “Chief Ropshik has shown over the years that he is not just a politician, but a servant-leader.”
