Ex-Sokoto governor Bafarawa calls for unity against regional challenges

The movement seeks to create a platform for northerners to collaborate, regardless of background, for the collective good of the region

The former governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, has called on northerners to set aside their difference and unite against challenges bedeviling the region.

Bafarawa threw the challenge while interacting with newsmen at his residence in Sokoto saying as a non-political, non-religious and non-tribal organization, the initiative called Northern Star Youths Empowerment Initiative was formed to address challenges faced by youths.

He said the movement seeks to create a platform for northerners to collaborate, regardless of background, for the collective good of the region.

“As the initiative gains momentum, many hope it will inspire similar movements nationwide, sparking positive change across regions.

“The Northern Star Youth Empowerment Initiative is built on values of inclusivity and empowerment, focusing on education, skills training, and mentorship to create a generation of empowered citizens”.

Bafarawa said it is a movement of northern region who are mostly affected by insecurity and therefore emphasized on the need for youth to take charge of governance in the north.

He announced that offices of the organization would be opened in all Northern states.
